Evil Geniuses VS Immortals 01/16/2022 – LCS Prediction

Although they looked abysmal on their first day of lock in, we still believe IMT is a good team. One area they particularly struggled in was draft, where POE’s top picks were either banned away or picked up. In particular, POE’s Twisted Fate looked horrendous and we’d like to see him on other picks if the draft permits. The eye test does a better job than stats at explaining why IMT has struggled so much this tournament, as every player on the team looked individually lacking in terms of micro play and positioning in team fights. We don’t think IMT is actually this bad, but it seems they need to iron out communication issues in the game and find their footing on the rift.

Move over Chovy, we have a new god in NA and his name is Jojopyun. EG did not disappoint as they took down TL this weekend through aggressive play making from every member of the team. Impact looked as aggressive as ever on Gnar as he went up against Bwipo’s Sion, looking for every possible angle to win trades and find priority targets in team fights. We think Inspired played a flawless game on Xin Zhao, where he had a 7 KDA while managing to fend off any engagements made by TL before regressing on priority targets. The two players that really impressed us were Jojopyun and Danny who had 23.6% and 37.6% team damage share respectively. The two young stars had a solid lane phase and toed the line between aggression and safety in team fight situations that allowed for a hard-fought victory against this star studded TL roster. Jojopyun specifically had impeccable decision making with the use of the Corki package which often decided the result of a mid game skirmish.

Prediction: Unfortunately for IMT, they face the toughest opponent in their group after dropping the easiest game in their schedule the day before. We predict EG to win this game in dominating fashion, and put IMT in a 0-3 position.
