It should be a no-brainer to anyone looking at both rosters that EG takes the cake against CLG. As we mentioned previously, Peter Dun has publicly spoken about EG’s success in scrims, and we believe him. The roster should have no problem taking down this CLG squad even if they weren’t in peak form.
The matchup to look at this game is Contractz versus Inspired. Contractz had a solid showing when he subbed into the LCS last split, with 62% KP and 18.5% gold share throughout his 10 games on the main stage. In contrast, Inspired put up 67.9% KP with 17.7% gold share on the world stage against the best players in the world. Even against world-class talent, Inspired is putting up good numbers with less gold. Stats don’t tell the entire story though, as we also believe Inspired to be mechanically superior to Contractz, as well as having better understandings of jungle pathing and gank ideas. EG is certainly the better team, but we’re curious how far CLG can take this squad before their nexus explodes.
