FLY Quest vs Cloud 9 – 01/14/2022

While we think this game will be close, C9 has a distinct edge over FlyQuest due to player matchup. Despite running a hybrid roster, C9 surprisingly looks better on paper than FlyQuest’s main roster. Both Darshan and Kumo are role players who enable their teams, nullifying any roster advantage FlyQuest has in the top lane. While Josedeodo is a great jungler in his own right, Cloud9 has King Crabber Blabber the 2021 Spring Split MVP, who is undoubtedly a top 2 jungler in NA alongside Closer. The relative unknowns lie in the mid lane, where Fudge and toucouille remain big question marks until more games have been played. Cloud 9’s biggest advantage will actually come from their bot lane in Zven and Isles, who are subbing in for Berserker and Winsome. While Cloud 9’s duo are the academy starters, Zven is easily one of the best ADC’s in NA and opted to stay in Cloud9 due to the training structure the organization has built for the coming year. If not for his decision to play under Cloud 9’s academy team, Zven could land an LCS spot elsewhere and dominate the roster of AD carries in the LCS. We’ll be modest and say that Zven outclasses Johnsun by a slight margin. A simple eye test comparing Isles and Chime in academy shows that Isles is in a class above his opponent. When you put the duo together, Zven and Isles have a stronger lane phase, and will likely look better when the map opens up and teamfights occur.

Prediction – C9 Win
