Counter Logic Gaming vs Immortals 01/15/2022

CLG loves picking up the scraps from the pile of subpar players, but this year seems more promising than their previous iterations. The team will field top laner Jenkins, jungler Contractz, mid Palafox, ADC luger and support Poome. It’s a roster that might not come last in the LCS, which will be an achievement for the org who came 9th and 10th in Spring and Summer of 2021 respectively.

IMT built a solid roster this year, and our analysts believe this team can reach the upper echelons of the tournament. One thing this team has going for it is the fact that their entire roster is intact for lock-in while having stable players in POE, Xerxe and WildTurtle. Revenge, Destiny, and to some degree WildTurtle looked shaky but all of them should look a bit better when going against lesser talent. We’re optimistic that this team will do well in lock-in, but more data is needed before we predict where they’ll land further into the tournament.

Prediction: IMT should pick up a win against CLG, but we predict it will be a slog of a game. It’s doubtful IMT is willing to play fast, as POE favors scaling mages such as Viktor or Corki (the new AP build) and the team will likely draft to follow suit. CLG on paper doesn’t look good enough to punish this playstyle, and will either follow suit or lose via bleedout.
